God, man, and a coming of age

Being 47 years old has its advantages. First is that you get giddy when you are ID'd at bars. "My ID? Sure I'll show you my ID!, no really its ok I'll show ya right now! O boy O boy, man my wife is gonna get PISSED when she finds out. And I'm older than she is!! Hey can I have your name?, cause no one at works gonna believe me!!!!" The other advantage is faith. Faith in yourself, faith in you family and friends. But mostly faith in God. I'm not new to feeling close to God, but lately, over the past several years my faith and more importantly, my belief in God has gotten much stronger. I have, in the past been ambivalent in God, "Oh yea I believe in God, sure anything you say, whatever". But now I would say I'm firmly in the Almighty's camp. I will confess that I now fully believe in an Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, Moses parting the Red Sea, the Exodus and the whole ball of wax. This wasn't an overnight journey. It's taken a few twist and turns. From coming close to death from a heart attack at the age of 41, to watching my 3 kids grow. There is something that happens to you when your 8 year old son does something that he thinks is so special and looks you right dead in the eyes with a big smile on his face...complete joy. No tarnishment from bills to pay, work to do or go to, how to pay for that leaky roof or if you can afford to fill up your gas tank. The eyes of a child can pull your soul kicking and screaming to the realization of the existence of Almighty God. I have seen the sun rise from a deer stand in a cold Iowa fall, I have seen the depths of the Grand Canyon and the Heights of the Rocky Mountains. From Driving Through Death Valley and traveling 500 ft under the Pacific Ocean, to watching my daughter form words from a Dr. Susses book. God is all the wonders of the world and more. I have read sections of the Bible, not the whole thing, yet. And besides my growing beliefs and convictions, I am far and away from any kind of saint. I like drinking beer, I swear like I still was in the navy, and I have more skeletons in my closet than the Adams Family. I love, I hate, I envy. You name it I do it. Not without regrets, but I do believe God made me like he made us all. As flawed humans, we have choices to make. And for good or ill I have made mine. The reason I started writing this Blog (is Blog capitalised?) was at first to try something new and to see if I can convert my thoughts to paper (or in this place electronic media). Its much harder than I thought. I am no George Will or William F. Buckley Jr. but I am a conservative who loves his country. And perhaps I can make a little difference. God set this country aside for a reason. So that a people with the wisdom and the courage could transform 13 oppressed colonies in to a free and independent republic. Each journey begins with a single step, and with the help of God, and His blessing, I pray that we all embark on a journey that opens our eyes, fills our senses and our imagination with wonder. God bless us all and this wonderful country.

Birthers Beware!

Donald Trump on the View caused quite a stir when he suggested that President Obama release his birth certificate so he could, once and for all, quiet his critics at least on this issue.

One thing Trump said that caused me to sit back and reflect was the phrase, "Why doesn't he just release it and be done with it?"

Indeed.

Having heard both sides on this issue ever since it was brought up two years ago, I put it aside as just another issue that this inept president and his even more bungled mess of an administration and advisers, failed to look into produce and or provide the necessary evidence needed to shut up the legion of critics. Not that any of the critics of this sandbox style executive branch of fools need any fodder.

However something has come to mind that just may explain this mysterious behavior, why would someone, let alone a President of the United States fail or at least ignore repeated calls to produce an actual birth certificate? It makes no since. Unless Barrack Obama was not born in the United States, Hawaii actually, and he knows it.

If I may.....

Lest us suppose that Barrack (Barry) Obama was born outside the U.S. and was brought to this country as an infant. And what if he was told, straight up, that he was born in Hawaii, or Cleveland or North Hayfork, Iowa or anywhere else. Why would he believe anything else?
If your parents and those VERY close around you told you, whenever you asked, that you were born in country A, then that is exactly what you would believe. You would have no reason to suspect otherwise. Oh sure, you travel there as a little boy for visits and to see relation from the "Old Country" but that's it. As far as you're concerned your a yankee doodle dandy and that's that.

Then fast forward several years.

Your a hot shot bonofide community organizer who's gotta way with words and is by all accounts a rising star in the democratic party, after all what other party would have you...anyway the future is as bright and shiny as Jeremiah Wrights forehead.

A few more years and.......

SURPRISE!!!! you're in the race for the Democratic Party nomination, Gosh! Even that witch Hillary Clinton is getting her clocked cleaned. This is great! By the way, someone, probably in the Clinton War room is trying to spread some rumor that you weren't born in this country. snicker snicker. That is the work of desperation, of a campaign that is going down the tubes and is grasping at anything. Hey Rohm!! better get someone over in Hawaii on the horn and have 'em bring that certificate over here so we can shove it up Hillary's Rodam so we can get this campaign over with.

Problem?......what problem?

What would be the fallout of the fact being released, now....today, that Barack Obama was not born in the United States. Think carefully, this is important. What would really happen?

We would witness the taking apart of the United States. Within 24 hours, this country would be reduced to rubble. The fabric of this republic would be torn asunder as the three quarters of this country who would demand immediate power change to the speaker of the house since Joe Bi dens nomination as VP would be null and void since he was selected by an ineligible candidate. and the one quarter of the population who would demand that Obama would stay in power regardless where he was from and of course we would have Barack Obama refusing to go. Which would only leave the United States Military to end the assured destruction of the country and change the leadership, one way or the other.

Republicans need to wake up

To be or not to be. That was the questions Hamlet asked of himself. Now republicans in congress need to be asking themselves the same thing.

Upon entering the fray of Washington, the freshman vowed to stand up to the business as usual crowed and most of all the republican establishment. That, for whatever reason is not happening. Perhaps it is the fear of the government shutting down that has them stumbling. I, however do not think so. I believe it is the pressure of the republican leadership that is keeping them from razing all the hell that they are capable of. Instead of watching the fur fly...we are watching the dog cower in the corner. And that, fellow Americans is completely unacceptable.

Fear is a strange thing. It can keep you from trying, and from succeeding.

Failure is easy......success never is, and it appears that our freshman, like water or electricity, are taking the path of least resistance.

We need to give them a wake up call and let them know its gonna be ok. To hell with the leadership, band together and fight. We will be with you.

Deus Vult!
